Project Expeditor (Contract) Contract role based in
Houston, TX
Onsite, 5 days per week (Greenway Plaza area)
Local candidates strongly preferred
Intended conversion to permanent after approximately 12 months, contingent on performance and business needs
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship
Role Summary The Project Expeditor is responsible for monitoring and facilitating the timely flow of materials, equipment, and documentation from procurement through delivery. This role partners closely with Project Management, Procurement, and external vendors to identify risks, resolve schedule issues, and ensure project delivery targets are met. Success in this role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to independently manage priorities in a fast‑paced, project‑driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Track and monitor the status of procured materials, supplies, and engineered equipment
Communicate directly with vendors regarding order status, production schedules, and delivery timelines
Review purchase orders and confirm vendor acknowledgements upon issuance
Monitor expediting activities performed by EPC partners and directly with suppliers
Identify potential schedule delays and proactively communicate risks to Project Managers
Compile, document, and report expediting progress to internal stakeholders and leadership
Maintain awareness of market lead times for commonly procured materials and equipment
Support risk mitigation strategies for long‑lead and critical‑path items
Act as liaison between internal departments and external suppliers
Input and maintain accurate data within company ERP systems
Support inventory monitoring and quality verification of delivered materials
Promote procurement services and collaboration across the organization
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards
Perform additional duties and special projects as required, including working non‑traditional hours when needed
Minimum Qualifications Education
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline
Equivalent experience (minimum 3 years of relevant work) may be considered in lieu of a degree
Experience & Knowledge
Minimum of 3 years of direct experience expediting materials and engineered equipment for projects or operations
Strong understanding of procurement processes for materials and services
Familiarity with energy‑related commodities and services
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Licenses
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (for business‑related travel)
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)
Supply Chain–related certification
Experience working with Oracle Cloud ERP or similar systems
Exposure to midstream energy storage and transportation environments
