Communication Strategist (Water Business Group) HDR

invites applications for the Communication Strategist role within the Water Business Group. This role focuses on shaping how communities manage water resources, driving public health, environmental sustainability, and infrastructure resilience.

Responsibilities

Develop content marketing strategies and communications plans for specific initiatives and projects.

Lead global and local communications strategies by collaborating with internal business partners, creative, marketing, and communications teams.

Assist in the development and management of an editorial calendar.

Work with subject‑matter experts to develop and write white papers, feature articles, thought leadership pieces, and social media content.

Ghost write and edit blogs, social media posts, papers, and presentations by subject‑matter experts.

Help develop collateral pieces and other marketing campaign materials.

Research, write, and edit project narratives and case studies.

Maintain a repository of industry best practices and trend examples.

Support event management as required.

Bring genuine, creative ideas to the table.

Perform additional duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a closely related field.

Previous consulting and/or creative agency experience.

Required Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years experience in communications, including social media, event planning, community engagement, target marketing, descriptive writing, or public involvement.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Self‑motivated; able to work independently with multiple teams and also in a team‑oriented environment.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills; positive outlook and attitude.

Aptitude for managing and solving tactical issues.

Commitment to HDR’s employee‑owned culture.

Comfortable working with senior leaders and managing cross‑functional efforts.

Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a fast‑paced environment.

Commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and HDR values.

Proficiency in Adobe InDesign.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Benefits & Compensation The expected compensation range is $48,699 – $92,760, depending on skills, experience, education and geographical location.
