Mechanical Designer
Job Description
As a Mechanical Designer, you will assist in designing various projects nationwide. Your tasks will include creating plans, schematics, selecting equipment, performing load calculations, and drafting specifications. You will work closely with associates, clients, and project managers to ensure the successful execution of projects from start to finish. This includes attending project meetings and traveling to project locations for surveys and other tasks.
Responsibilities
Assist in the design of HVAC and plumbing systems for buildings.
Create detailed plans, schematics, and specifications.
Perform equipment selection and load calculations.
Collaborate effectively with associates, clients, and project managers.
Attend project meetings and conduct surveys at project locations.
Ensure projects are completed successfully from start to finish.
Essential Skills
2–5 years of mechanical (HVAC/plumbing) design/drafting experience in buildings.
Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
Understanding of NEC basics, circuiting, panel schedules, and lighting layouts.
Ability to collaborate in a multi-discipline team.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
EIT certification preferred.
Willingness to travel.
Excellent technical writing skills.
Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Strong planning, organization, and analytical skills.
Proven problem-solving and design capabilities.
Work Environment Work hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM or 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with a hybrid schedule allowing work from home on Fridays. The team consists of 15 people and works on a variety of projects, including office interiors, data centers, financial institutions, schools, healthcare, and infrastructure projects. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 – $48.00 /hr.
