Renewal Market Specialist – Overview
The Renewal Market Specialist manages the end-to-end marketing process for commercial lines renewals. This includes examining coverage needs, negotiating carrier terms, preparing proposals, binding coverage, and transitioning accounts to the local client service team.
Responsibilities
Work closely with sales associates and client service teams to develop renewal marketing strategies.
Review and validate submissions for completeness and adherence to best practices. Send to carriers and obtain quotes.
Respond to underwriters’ inquiries and negotiate coverage terms with carriers on behalf of clients.
Review carrier quotations and prepare detailed comparison summaries.
Finalize marketing efforts and create client‑ready proposal presentations.
Bind coverage and execute a seamless hand‑off to the appropriate client service team.
Build and maintain relationships with carrier underwriters and representatives.
Serve as a technical resource on market trends, pricing practices, and underwriting policies.
Maintain a high degree of accuracy in agency management systems and technology platforms.
Stay current on industry developments, new products, legislation, coverages, and technology.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in commercial property & casualty insurance.
College degree preferred. Property & Casualty insurance license required.
Comprehensive understanding of property & casualty coverages, underwriting, and rating concepts.
Vertical expertise preferred (e.g., construction, manufacturing, real estate, healthcare, financial services).
Industry designations such as ARM, CIC, CPCU preferred.
Exceptional critical, negotiation, and organizational skills; ability to manage complex tasks.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of Sagitta/ImageRight preferred.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced, team environment with minimal instruction.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong relationship management abilities.
Benefits & Compensation Salary Range: $90,000 - $100,000 per year.
Paid time off and sick leave: 18 days per year.
Bonus eligible with a target incentive of 5%.
Eligibility for paid family leave and 12 paid holidays.
