FAR Inspections is looking for highly motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders. Independent contractors earn predictable full‑time or supplemental income and enjoy a flexible schedule.

Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required, but an ability to effectively manage time and meet deadlines is crucial. The position is based in Reno, NV, and contractors will complete inspections in their assigned county.

What is an Occupancy Verification? The purpose of the property inspection is to verify property occupancy and report on the general condition of the property using a mobile application.

Responsibilities

Conduct most inspections in 5‑6 minutes.

Complete each inspection within 4 days of assignment.

Report general property conditions and determine occupancy status based on industry standards.

Take 9+ photographs of the property with brief comments.

Complete a short form in an app.

Drive long distances with frequent stops during the day within the assigned territory.

Requirements

Computer with internet connection.

Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus; you will pay for your own gas).

Smartphone (Android or iPhone).

Printer.

Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license.

Pay and Hours This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate that varies by county and volume. You will earn the equivalent of $30–$40 per hour, with 20–500 inspections per month depending on county. Lower volume counties offer higher rates; higher volume counties offer lower rates. There is no set number of inspections, but work is consistent month‑to‑month.

No additional mileage reimbursement is provided beyond the flat fee per inspection.
