The Network Engineer develops and deploys network system plans and designs to meet organizational requirements for performance, security, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations. This role involves conducting network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies, as well as defining monitoring, maintenance, expansion, contingency, and recovery strategies. The engineer troubleshoots network issues, implements solutions, and ensures systems remain responsive to changes in demand. Staying current with emerging technologies and best practices is essential.
Responsibilities Develop and deploy network system designs that meet performance, security, and compliance requirements
Conduct network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies
Define monitoring, maintenance, expansion, contingency, and recovery plans
Troubleshoot network issues and implement appropriate solutions
Develop resources and deployment processes to support network operations
Stay informed of the latest networking hardware, software, and best practices
Collaborate with management and engineering staff to ensure quality and reliability standards
Contribute to moderately complex aspects of projects, working independently and collaboratively
Education/Experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required
4–7 years of related experience required
Vendor-specific certifications (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Microsoft) may be preferred
Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to design, interpret, and implement network architecture
Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving network issues
Knowledge of compliance standards and security protocols
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work independently while contributing to team projects
