Senior Living Maintenance Assistant
– Merrill Gardens, Cedar Mill, OR

Responsibilities
Perform general maintenance projects as scheduled or assigned, including installation and repair of plumbing, electrical equipment, fire & sprinkler systems, HVAC, landscaping, carpentry, painting, and equipment repair.
Understand and utilize Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
Maintain walls, floor coverings, doors, windows, furniture, and woodwork in common areas.
Perform basic prep and painting abilities; paint and clean vacated rooms promptly.
Handle all in‑house plumbing (sinks, toilets, bathtubs) and minor electrical work in units and common areas.
Paint apartments, common areas, carpet, floor coverings, and furniture.
Complete all work orders promptly and note additional work not listed.
Document safety issues and physical plan deficiencies per local, county, state, and federal guidelines.
Assist with preventative maintenance and cleaning of community vehicles (buses, cars, vans).
Assist training and development of safety procedures and hazard communications.
Respond immediately and appropriately to all accidents and emergencies following protocol.
Perform any other duties assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor, Regional Maintenance Supervisor, or General Manager.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (must be at least 18 years of age).
1‑3 years related experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of building maintenance, electrical, mechanical, painting, plumbing, floor care, heating, and HVAC skills.
Prefer knowledge of fire suppression & irrigation systems.
Prefer motor vehicle maintenance ability.
Flexible and able to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
Physical ability to stand, walk, lift (up to 90 lbs), push/pull.
