Position Summary The
Ag Sales Manager
will be responsible for building, managing, and accelerating the growth of SoluSil’s nationwide network of independent sales representatives. This is a
full-time, on-site role in Houston , focused on recruiting top-performing reps, overseeing their onboarding and training, monitoring performance metrics, and driving sales growth through strategic leadership.
The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in
agricultural sales ,
agronomy , and team leadership, with the ability to motivate field reps and ensure consistent communication, accountability, and performance across multiple states.
Key Responsibilities Rep Recruitment & Onboarding
Identify, interview, and recruit qualified independent agricultural sales representatives.
Build applicant pipelines through outreach, networking, universities, LinkedIn, PCA groups, and ag industry associations.
Lead structured onboarding processes, ensuring each rep understands SoluSil products, MSA science, pricing, protocols, and trial programs.
Rep Training & Development
Provide continuous training on agronomy, crop programs, product application, and field positioning. Run weekly/bi-weekly rep meetings, webinars, field check-ins, and sales coaching sessions.
Equip reps with updated pitch materials, trial playbooks, best practices, and data-backed sales strategies.
Performance Management
Monitor rep activity, sales pipelines, trial progress, and customer engagement.
Track KPIs including outreach volume, trial set-ups, conversions, and recurring sales.
Maintain rep accountability—address inactivity, performance gaps, or communication issues.
Sales Leadership & Strategy
Develop and implement regional strategies to scale SoluSil’s footprint across major crop categories.
Collaborate with SoluSil leadership on pricing, dealer partnerships, and field marketing campaigns.
Provide insight into new market opportunities, product positioning, and territory expansion.
Cross-Department Collaboration
Work closely with agronomy, marketing, logistics, and executive teams to support reps and customers.
Ensure customer feedback from the field reaches the R&D team and leadership for continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Requirements Required
3–7+ years experience
in agricultural sales, crop inputs, agronomy, fertilizer/biostimulant sales, or related field roles.
Proven experience managing teams, reps, or field personnel.
Strong understanding of crop production, nutrition programs, agronomy fundamentals, and grower decision-making.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing a high-volume multi-rep network.
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree
in Agronomy, Agricultural Science, Plant Science, Ag Business, Horticulture, or related field.
Experience selling biostimulants, fertilizers, foliars, or specialty crop inputs.
Background working with PCAs, crop advisors, distributors, or large growers.
Experience running field trials or evaluating crop performance data.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred but not required.
Location Requirement
This is an in-office position in Houston, Texas.
Candidates must already live in Houston or be willing to relocate.
