We are seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused Procedure Scheduler to join our Gastroenterology team. This individual will play a key role in supporting patient care by efficiently scheduling routine and complex procedures, including endoscopic procedures and surgeries. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and excels at patient communication.

Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and schedule patient procedures and surgeries as ordered by physicians, including associated pre- and post-operative services
Provide patients and their families with clear, timely instructions on procedure preparation and follow-up requirements
Accurately communicate patient financial obligations and insurance-related details when applicable
Work closely with providers to ensure proper scheduling, including securing surgical block time at affiliated hospitals or surgical centers
Submit and manage physician orders to endoscopy units and surgical facilities
Monitor schedules to ensure accuracy and timeliness, adjusting for delays or cancellations as needed
Respond to patient and provider inquiries regarding scheduling issues; **escalate** complex concerns to the appropriate departments with recommended resolutions
Maintain compliance with HIPAA and organizational privacy standards at all times
Support additional administrative and operational tasks as needed
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting
Minimum of 1 year of experience scheduling surgeries/procedures preferred
Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT Coding and working knowledge of medical terminology preferred
Proficiency in MS Excel, or other scheduling software
Prolonged periods of sitting and/or being stationary at a desk.
Must be able to move around an office/healthcare environment on a consistent basis
Consistently uses computers and relays information via email, messaging and phone.
Must communicate with others and exchange information frequently and on an on-going basis.
Must be able to lift/move up to 15 lbs.
