In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. The hiring range listed is a good faith determination of potential compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.# **What you will be doing****About the Role**The **Director of Central Sterile** provides 24/7 clinical and operational leadership for the Central Sterile Processing Unit, ensuring that system-wide initiatives and best practices are embedded into daily operations. This leader standardizes workflows, optimizes processes, enhances regulatory compliance, and drives continuous improvement in support of exceptional patient care—**every patient, every time**.The Director partners closely with nursing leadership, surgeons, perioperative services, and key stakeholders across the HSS enterprise to advance performance, improve reliability, and elevate service excellence. This role also leads the development of dashboards, tools, and data-driven strategies that support institutional goals.**Key Responsibilities****Operational Leadership & Strategy*** Lead and oversee Central Sterile operations around the clock, ensuring alignment with HSS’s mission, vision, and values.* Standardize processes, workflows, communication methods, and service standards across the department.* Develop and implement operating systems that improve efficiency, quality, and performance outcomes.* Partner with Perioperative Services to design and roll out operational improvements and performance metrics.**Quality, Safety & Compliance*** Establish and maintain evidence-based standards for sterile processing and medical device reprocessing.* Ensure full compliance with Joint Commission, AAMI, OSHA, EPA, and institutional regulatory requirements.* Lead QA/PI initiatives, implement corrective actions, and utilize data to drive measurable improvement.* Identify and mitigate risks related to equipment, environment, and processes.**Relationship Management & Collaboration*** Build strong partnerships with nurse leaders, physicians, and cross-functional stakeholders to support seamless patient care.* Promote teamwork, communication, and collaboration within and across departments.* Demonstrate strong customer service and responsiveness in all interactions.**Fiscal Responsibility & Resource Management*** Monitor labor, equipment, and supply utilization to ensure fiscal stewardship and operational sustainability.* Develop business plans and cost-containment strategies to support institutional priorities.* Review staffing and resource allocation with leadership to maintain efficiency and high-quality service.**Qualifications****Required*** Bachelor’s degree* CRCST, CIS, and CHL certifications* Minimum 3 years of healthcare experience in OR, Central Sterile, or OR Materials Management* Progressive leadership or management experience* Strong communication skills and customer service orientation* Computer literacy**Preferred*** 7+ years of healthcare experience* Proficiency with Excel and office productivity tools**Non-Discrimination Policy**
