Job Description Summary
The Account Executive is responsible for driving sales and services to new and existing customers, improving customer value and satisfaction, and managing a longer sales cycle. Key responsibilities include building and maintaining relationships with key decision makers, aligning complex product solutions with customer initiatives, and maintaining a balanced pipeline.
What is expected for success in your role
Demonstrates sophisticated knowledge of BD and customer industry, including competitors, terminology, technology, trends, challenges, reimbursement, and regulation.
Serves as a leader in maintaining balance in all pipeline areas, ensuring consistent sustainable results and managing pipeline independently within own business unit.
Builds and implements an opportunity plan independently that drives consistent results.
Consistently uses all resources available within own business unit and frequently involves other units to drive the solution sales process.
Qualifications
2-3 years successful medical equipment sales.
Ability to lead a long sales cycle.
Travel up to 50% of the time.
Bachelor’s Degree required.
Must possess a valid state‑issued driver’s license with 3 years of consecutive driving history and meet BD’s auto safety standards.
Preferred
Capital sales experience.
Experience working with Pharmacy, IT, Nursing, and C‑suite call points.
Salary
$133,900 - $240,000 Annual Base + Incentive (salary ranges vary by role type and location).
Work Environment
At BD, we prioritize on‑site collaboration with a minimum of 4 days in‑office per week for most roles. Remote or field‑based positions have different arrangements. Certain roles require proof of full vaccination against COVID‑19. Accommodations are considered per the Workplace Accommodations Policy.
