Overview
Meyer Distributing is a wholesale distributor supplying automotive parts and a wide range of products such as RV/towing, outdoor living, marine, and more. With 85+ locations nationwide, a logistics arm of 500+ trucks supports our shipping network. The company is now seeking a Sales Account Manager to join the Jasper, IN team and help drive inside‑sales growth.
Responsibilities
Handle a high volume of inbound and outbound telephone calls, taking and closing sales orders.
Source new opportunities through inbound lead follow‑up and outbound cold calls.
Process calls efficiently and accurately, maintaining digital notes and ensuring orders are verified before entry into the computer system.
Ensure customer accounts are serviced and maintained according to company standards.
Identify customer buying patterns and promote potential new product lines.
Contact key accounts regularly and build long‑term professional relationships with prospects.
Investigate and resolve customer issues professionally, achieving mutually acceptable outcomes.
Meet or exceed sales goals and stay current on product knowledge and market trends.
Assist with occasional travel as directed by the supervisor.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Excellent verbal, written, and telephone communication skills.
Ability to be on the phone 90 % or more of the shift.
Strong customer‑needs assessment and future‑needs anticipation.
Strong multi‑tasking, prioritization, time‑management, and problem‑solving capabilities.
High attention to detail and the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
Planning, organizing, and follow‑up skills—capable of creating realistic action plans and tracking them to completion.
Extensive computer proficiency; experience with Microsoft Windows preferred. Prior automotive parts knowledge is a plus.
Strong negotiating abilities.
Entry‑level candidates with solid customer‑service experience are encouraged to apply.
