Maintenance Repairman 2 (Governor's Residence) The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania invites applications for a Maintenance Repairman 2 position at the Governor's Residence. This role is ideal for individuals with experience in building, electrical, or mechanical trades, who are skilled at maintaining a historic residence with unique green features, gardens, and public events.

Description of Work As a Maintenance Repairman 2, you will perform a wide variety of maintenance and grounds‑keeping functions to support the Governor’s Residence during both everyday operations and special events. Responsibilities include:

Working individually, as a lead worker, or in a team to complete grounds‑keeping duties.

Performing minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting projects.

Repairing and maintaining small engines or other equipment.

Supporting construction and renovation projects.

Managing practical security matters such as placing and removing traffic barricades and security equipment.

Responding to emergency calls, adverse weather, or other emergencies.

Performing periodic maintenance on everyday fixtures, household appliances, and historical objects.

Assisting with moving and storing furnishings and historical objects for events.

Providing effective customer service during public and private events to meet high standards of guest experience.

Work schedule may vary; plan hours typically 7:00 AM‑3:00 PM, Monday‑Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch. Overtime is expected and essential employees must report during emergencies or office closings. Telework is not an option.

Required Experience, Training & Eligibility

Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 or equivalently qualified federal or Commonwealth work.

Four years of building and plant maintenance experience involving at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades.

An equivalent combination of experience and training that supplies the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Valid Pennsylvania Class C driver’s license.

Ability to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)

Experience with facilities operations and customer service.

Legal Requirements

This position is subject to the Child Protective Services Law. Conditional offers require satisfactory criminal history clearances, including Pennsylvania State Police clearance, Pennsylvania Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI fingerprint clearance.
