Assistant Superintendent - Bridges & Highways The role of Assistant Superintendent in the Bridges & Highways division at Brasfield & Gorrie, LLC involves leading large-scale, multi-million-dollar projects in the road, highway, and bridge market sectors.

Responsibilities

Assist the Superintendent with one or more duties or responsibilities assigned by the Superintendent or General Superintendent, or perform these duties for jobs without a Superintendent.

Advocate safety as the number one priority on the jobsite and enforce compliance with company and jobsite safety plans, policies, and all safety‑related regulations.

Partner with Estimating, Division Management, and Project Management to supervise, direct, and coordinate construction projects, including liaison with owners, designers, and subcontractors to ensure efficient performance.

Develop and implement production plans with budget goals in mind.

Assist the Project Manager in preparing project status reports.

Prepare daily, progress, compliance reports, and logs.

Oversee the review of plans and drawings in accordance with contract documents and coordinate shop drawings.

Procure tools and materials needed for the project to ensure availability according to the work schedule.

Determine staffing levels and timing, considering building methodology and the availability of tools and equipment for each phase.

Recruit, hire, and direct the work of all onsite field personnel in accordance with HR processes and procedures.

Prepare or oversee submission of payroll to the Payroll Department and all required documentation to comply with HR and Payroll policies.

Resolve complaints and grievances within the workforce in consultation with HR and Legal.

Work with supervisory personnel, engineers, architects, subcontractors, inspectors, and suppliers to improve construction methods and resolve issues.

Ensure construction schedules are adhered to by determining appropriate staffing levels and material/tool procurement.

Supervise and coordinate subcontractors to monitor their compliance with subcontract terms.

Follow and enforce company policies and procedures.

Coordinate and oversee regulatory inspections.

Qualifications

High school diploma or G.E.D.; minimum of 5 years of relevant construction experience.

Current knowledge and ability to apply local, state, and federal rules and regulations, including OSHA.

Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, financial reports, and legal documents.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to present information to top management, owners, and other stakeholders.

Basic math and computer skills.

Professional attitude and appearance.

People‑management skills.

Valid driver’s license.
