Join Sprouts Farmers Market as a
Deli Clerk
in a fast‑paced retail environment. You’ll prepare fresh meals, assist customers, and maintain a clean deli area.
Responsibilities
Assist customers in making healthy food choices by preparing “fresh and easy meals.”
Provide high level of customer service and ensure deli items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented; maintain cleanliness of deli area.
Fill, maintain, and rotate products and displays.
Prepare special orders and party trays.
Operate meat and cheese slicers, ovens, microwaves, cutting tools, scales, and other deli equipment following company standards and procedures.
Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary deli area and equipment; clean shelves, keep floors free of spills, remove hazardous debris, sweep.
Receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality.
Qualifications
Be at least 18 years old; high school diploma or equivalent.
Experience working in grocery, restaurant, or related field, or acceptable combination of education and experience.
Dependable, reliable, friendly behavior with a positive attitude.
Work flexible schedule that changes as the business changes, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Good communication skills; can take direction and participate in a team environment.
Answer phones and take special orders.
Lift/carry product weighing up to 70 lbs. from 4” to 60” for up to 20 feet without mechanical assistance for up to 4 hours.
Stand for up to 4 hours continuously, total of 8 hours per shift.
General housekeeping; clean and sanitize work area.
Operate slicer, wrapping and cooking equipment; keep equipment safe.
Adhere to safety, health, and weights & measures regulations; maintain Food Handlers permit.
Work in different temperature environments (cooler and freezer).
Other related duties as assigned.
