Customer Service Representative

The Customer Service Representative serves as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring a positive experience through effective communication, problem-solving, and timely resolution of inquiries. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments to maintain customer satisfaction. This is a Contract to Hire opportunity near Schaumburg, IL. Key Responsibilities: Respond promptly to customer inquiries via phone, email, and other channels. Process customer orders accurately, including EDI and web-based submissions. Handle returns, credits, and resolve complaints in a professional manner. Provide information on products, services, pricing, and availability. Collaborate with logistics and purchasing teams to ensure timely delivery. Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and transactions. Escalate complex issues to appropriate departments and follow through to resolution. Promote new services or programs during customer interactions. Skills and Qualifications: Prior experience in a customer-facing role preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively. Problem-solving abilities with a detail-oriented mindset. Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with ERP systems. Associate degree or equivalent experience.
