FAR INSPECTIONS
Role Overview
FAR Inspections is seeking a Mortgage Field Services Inspector to conduct residential occupancy verifications for mortgage lenders. This independent contractor role offers full‑time or supplemental income with a flexible schedule.
Location Based in Reno, NV. Inspectors are responsible for completing all inspections in their assigned county.
Responsibilities
Verify property occupancy and report general conditions via a mobile app.
Complete most inspections (exterior only) in 5–6 minutes; interior photos required only for vacant properties.
Submit inspection within 4 days of assignment.
Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
Complete a short form in the app.
Spend extended periods driving and making multiple stops within the assigned territory.
Requirements
Computer with internet connection.
Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage; own fuel paid).
Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
Printer.
Valid driver's license and background check clearance.
Pay and Hours This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate. Rates vary by county and volume. Earn roughly $30–$40 per hour. Depending on your county and coverage, you may complete 20–500 inspections per month, working 2–30 hours per week.
There is no additional mileage reimbursement above the flat fee per inspection.
