What is an Occupancy Verification? Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties. The purpose of the property inspection is to verify occupancy and to report on the general condition using a mobile application.

Responsibilities

Complete most inspections within 5‑6 minutes.

Finish the inspection within four days of assignment.

Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards.

Take nine or more photos with brief comments.

Complete a short form in an app.

Spend extended periods driving through assigned territory.

Requirements

Computer with internet connection.

Reliable vehicle with good gas mileage.

Smartphone (Android or iPhone).

Printer.

Pass a standard background check and hold a valid driver’s license.

Pay and Hours This is a 1099 position. Each inspection is paid a flat rate that varies by county and volume. Typical earnings range from $30–$40 per hour. Depending on the county, you may complete between 20 and 500 inspections per month while working 2–30 hours per week. Lower‑volume counties offer higher rates; higher‑volume counties offer higher volume. No additional mileage reimbursement is provided beyond the flat fee per inspection.
