Job Details Job Title: Principal Contract Manager Location: Oakland, CA Work Type: Full Time Direct Hire • Work Mode: Hybrid Base pay range : $135,000.00/yr - $165,000.00/yr Full-time direct hire position, hybrid work arrangement with assigned location Oakland General Office (OGO). General expectations for working days in OGO are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday each week. Responsibilities Lead supplier relationship management for critical system integration partners. Advise senior leadership (internal and external) on contracting strategy and negotiations. Negotiate complex contract issues independently. Lead efforts to identify, analyze, and improve existing business processes within the department to meet goals. Ensure alignment with key stakeholders and act as primary liaison for the contracts team to Legal and other compliance departments (i.e. Risk). Provide active guidance, mentorship and training to less experienced contract management staff and deliver contract management training to stakeholders. Track program contracts and associated obligations; analyze contracts for compliance issues. Identify and resolve discrepancies or non-compliance issues; evaluate and improve compliance programs and procedures. Conduct audits and inspections to verify compliance; communicate requirements to relevant stakeholders. Prepare reports on contract compliance activities and outcomes. Qualifications Minimum: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; 9 years of direct experience in a similar role with ability to navigate complex sourcing strategies and contract compliance for large scale digital transformations; Master’s degree in related discipline. Certification such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Program Management Professional (PgMP), Lean six sigma (green or black belt). Experience with QA/QC regarding contract documents; process development and continuous improvement. Experience in transmission pipeline construction and utility industry experience. Subject matter expertise with contract management, change orders, and negotiation; ability to apply business knowledge and project management methodologies. Ability to manage conflict constructively with a win-win resolution; knowledge of budget, resource allocation, contracts, bids, agreements, and RFPs. Develops and delivers multi-mode communications for different audiences; strong analytical, critical, and technical thinking skills. Ability to develop reports, models, and simulations; prioritize workload independently based on department goals. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and contract information systems (e.g. SRM, Ariba, SAP).
