Job Overview As a Field Merchandiser, you'll work independently to showcase organization and time‑management skills, establish retailer relationships, and serve as the face of Hallmark. You’ll collaborate with local store teams to optimize product placement, maintain inventory levels, and support seasonal resets and installations as needed. Occasionally you may work with other products from different companies in the stores you service.
Salary and Schedule Details
Starting pay:
$14.00 to $16.00
depending on skills and experience.
Eligible employees receive annual pay increases.
Part‑time position with a variable schedule during the work week.
Average weekly hours:
10–12 hours per week .
Availability week before and after major holidays, including weekends, is required.
Your Role and Responsibilities You will perform service work in the Hallmark department of various retail stores (grocery, drug, department, and mass retailers). The position has three major components:
Day‑to‑day engagement:
Using a mobile device provided by Hallmark, restock, organize, and monitor Hallmark products inside and outside the department. Technology is critical for daily work, communication with your supervisor, reporting time, providing feedback, and surveys. Professional and courteous interaction with store staff, management, and customers is essential.
Holiday support:
Ahead of and after holidays such as Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, expect additional days and extended hours. On holidays like Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, and Father’s Day, you may be required to work on the holiday itself, possibly including weekends.
Department resets:
Participate in installations and tasks such as building and installing Hallmark fixtures, relocating card departments, and resetting card sections. Assignments are typically notified two weeks in advance and may involve evenings or weekends.
One Team Vision:
As part of Hallmark’s field organization, you are part of a network of merchandisers who often support other team members as needed in their territories.
Physical Requirements This physically demanding job requires a high level of energy and urgency. You will work on the selling floor and in back stockrooms, consistently pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying cartons, merchandise, and display fixtures up to 30 pounds, and up to 50 pounds on occasion. You will also kneel, squat, walk, and stand throughout the day, and may climb stairs and step ladders.
Basic Qualifications
At least 18 years of age.
Ability to read, write, and understand English.
Ability to lift and carry products up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
Ability to operate a digital hand‑held device to open and read documents and interpret information.
Access to Wi‑Fi network and internet.
Consistent transportation to travel to and between assigned stores as scheduled.
