Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Master Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Ypsilanti, Michigan Hourly Pay: $35.00 per hour Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification obtained, up to $700 Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter (four times per year) Sign‑On Bonus: $2,000 at 30 days and $2,000 at 90 days Tool Box/Tool Allowance Schedule: Wednesday–Saturday, 4‑10 hour days First Shift Hours: 7:00 am – 5:30 pm We want the right maintenance repair mechanic to join us at Ryder to work on heavy‑duty vehicles. 18 years of age or older High school diploma or equivalent (preferred) Vocational or technical certification, post‑secondary degree or technical certifications (preferred) Basic tools required Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work), diagnostics and repairs (AC, electrical systems), and advanced skilled repairs (major engine repairs, diesel aftertreatment or fuel injection) – required Four (4) years or more relevant work experience (preferred) Ability to read codes and instructions on a computer Computer experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, internet, and other related applications Maintenance computerized programs for reporting or communicating with customers, vendors and company representatives Valid commercial driver license (CDL) Class A (preferred) All other certifications as required by location (required) Additional Requirements
Have a valid driver’s license and meet Ryder’s driving qualifications Meet minimum Tech II‑to‑Tech IV qualifications plus at least six months supervisory or training experience Ability to work flexible schedules, including shift work, weekends, holidays and on‑call rotations for roadside assistance Proficiency in SMO, SBT, payroll system, warranty recovery and employee handbook Thorough understanding of unit utilization procedures Must be able to obtain a CDL within six months after hire Pass a Ryder drug test Pass a DOT physical Pass a Ryder road test Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years) Internal Candidates
Ideal candidate will have a minimum of six months in their current position and possess a record of good performance, attendance, safety and teamwork. Important Note
