Press Brake Operator
Press Brake Machine Operator Mon-Fri: 2nd shift (230pm-11pm) Pay Rate: $21-25 Core Responsibilities: Machine Setup and Operation: Setting up and operating press brake machines, including selecting and installing tooling (punches and dies), adjusting machine settings (bend angles, pressure, back gauge positioning), and operating CNC or manual controls. Blueprint Interpretation: Reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to understand project requirements and determine machine settings. Quality Control: Inspecting finished parts using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, protractors) to ensure they meet specified tolerances and quality standards. Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting on press brake machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and reporting any issues. Safety: Adhering to all safety protocols and maintaining a clean and organized work area, ensuring the safe operation of the press brake. Production Monitoring: Monitoring production activities, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with others to optimize production processes and improve efficiency. Required Skills and Qualifications: Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating press brake machines, including understanding machine functions and potentially CNC programming, and selecting appropriate tooling. Blueprint Reading: Ability to accurately interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to determine bending sequences and dimensions. Mathematical Skills: Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and understanding tolerances. Attention to Detail: Crucial for accurate machine setup, inspection, and production. Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and handle heavy materials. Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with the press brake or production process. Safety Awareness: Understanding and adhering to safety procedures and using personal protective equipment. Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members. Work Environment: Press brake operators typically work in industrial settings, such as manufacturing plants, fabrication workshops, or steel mills. The environment can be noisy and may involve exposure to dust, fumes, and moving mechanical parts. Safety protocols, including wearing protective gear, are strictly followed.
