About the Opportunity:
A well-established building automation and energy management provider is seeking a motivated
Sales Engineer
to support growing demand throughout the
Boston metro region . This hybrid position blends office-based work with on-site customer visits and requires both technical aptitude and strong sales instincts. The role focuses on identifying, developing, and closing energy retrofit and automation projects within commercial, institutional, and healthcare facilities while partnering closely with mechanical contractors and facility teams.

Full-Time | Office & Field-Based
Travel:
Yes – 2–3 days in office and 2–3 days visiting customer sites
Ideal Candidate:
Background as a Sales Engineer or in a similar technical sales-focused role
Solid understanding of BAS, controls integration, and HVAC fundamentals
Ability to review drawings, interpret sequences of operation, and evaluate project requirements
Experienced conducting facility walkthroughs and developing retrofit recommendations
Strong business development abilities with a history of building lasting client relationships
Comfortable creating take-offs, proposals, estimates, and competitive bids
Strong communicator able to translate technical details into customer-focused solutions
Driven, goal-oriented professional with a record of achieving sales milestones
Key Responsibilities:
Develop new business through outreach, networking, and relationship-building
Grow existing accounts by identifying opportunities for upgrades and additional services
Identify and scope energy retrofit and building automation opportunities
Perform take-offs and prepare accurate, detailed proposals and bid packages
Manage CRM activity, maintain an accurate pipeline, and forecast monthly sales
Collaborate with engineering, project management, and installation teams to ensure project success
Compensation & Benefits:
Base Salary:
$70,000–$90,000 (DOE)
Commission:
High-earning structure – OTE $150,000+ expected
