FAR Inspections is seeking highly motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders. Independent contractors earn predictable full‑time or supplemental income with a flexible schedule. Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required, but an ability to manage time and meet deadlines is crucial.
What is an Occupancy Verification? Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties. Inspections verify property occupancy and report general condition via a mobile application.
Responsibilities
Most inspections take 5‑6 minutes.
Complete each inspection within 4 days of assignment.
Report general property conditions and determine occupancy per industry standards.
Take 9+ photos with brief comments.
Complete a short form in the app.
Spend extended periods driving within the assigned county.
Requirements
Computer with internet connection.
Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage a plus; you pay your own gas).
Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
Printer.
Pass standard background check using a valid driver’s license.
Pay and Hours This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate that varies by county/volume. Pay equates roughly to $30‑$40/hour. Depending on your county and workload, you may complete 20‑500 inspections per month, working 2‑30 hours per week. Lower volume counties offer higher rates.
There is no additional mileage reimbursement beyond the flat fee per inspection.
