FAR INSPECTIONS
Overview
FAR Inspections is looking for highly motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders.
Independent contractors earn predictable full‑time or supplemental income and enjoy a flexible schedule.
Based in Reno, NV, FAR Inspections has been in business for over 9 years.
Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required, but the ability to effectively manage time and meet deadlines is crucial.
Responsibilities
Complete inspections primarily exterior, typically 5‑6 minutes each.
Finish each inspection within 4 days of assignment.
Report general property conditions and determine occupancy using industry standards.
Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
Fill out a short form in the mobile application.
Spend extended periods driving with multiple stops during the day within the assigned territory.
Requirements
Computer with internet connection.
Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus; you pay for your own gas).
Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
Printer.
Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license.
Pay and Hours This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate that varies by county and volume.
Although you are paid per inspection, you can earn the equivalent of $30‑$40 per hour.
Depending on the county and its density, you may complete anywhere from 20 to 500 inspections per month, working 2‑30 hours per week.
Lower volume counties have higher rates, while higher volume counties have lower rates. No set minimum inspections per month, but work is consistent month‑to‑month.
No additional mileage reimbursement beyond the flat fee per inspection.
