Electrical Panel Builder As a Technician at Card‑Monroe Automation, you will play a critical role in the assembly of electrical control panels, junction boxes, and wire harnesses based on engineering prints. Your primary responsibility will be to physically assemble, wire, and test control panels for industrial equipment, ensuring precision and quality in every detail. From fabricating controls to the final testing phase, you will be involved in the entire process, guaranteeing that all components are mounted correctly, wired accurately, and tested thoroughly for optimal performance.

To excel in the role of a Technician at Card‑Monroe Automation, you should be proficient in troubleshooting panels, routing and bundling wires and cables to meet industry standards, and reading blueprints and schematics. The successful candidate will demonstrate advanced skills in identifying and resolving issues within control panels, ensuring proper routing and bundling of wires to maintain organization and efficiency, and accurately interpreting engineering drawings to guide the assembly process. Proficiency in utilizing various tools and software to troubleshoot, plan, and execute tasks is crucial to guarantee the precise fabrication and testing of control panels for industrial equipment.
Responsibilities
Dimensioning and layout of back panels and enclosures
Mounting components to back panels and enclosures
Routing and bundling wire and cables neatly to meet internal wiring standards
Point to point wiring of Relays, Controls, PLC's, I/O Modules, VFD's, Interfaces & Instrumentation
Troubleshooting as needed to eliminate errors and potential component malfunctions
Maintaining redline drawing mark‑ups of any changes required during manufacturing (as signed off by Engineering)
Communicate effectively with all team members as well as Management
Ability to meet deadlines under pressure
Strong attention to quality and details
Teamwork approach and ability to help in other areas as needed
Train lower‑level team members as needed
All other duties as assigned
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent
Ability to communicate effectively – both written and verbally in English
3+ years of industrial control panel building experience
Prior experience with UL508A control panels
Willingness to work overtime occasionally as necessary
Knowledge of electrical theory and terminology
Follow safety and ISO procedures
Physical capabilities include sitting, standing, walking, talking, hearing, bending, pushing, pulling and lifting to 50 lbs
Read/comprehend tape measure, blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, work orders, instructions, formulas, and processing charts
Proficient with the proper use of hand tools and power tools
Minimum Educational Qualifications High school or equivalent
