We are looking for a Body Shop Estimator to join our growing team! The right candidate will have the ability to learn new technology and have a strong background in customer service. The day-to-day duties of this role include preparing estimates, maintaining a timely repair schedule, and developing a proper repair plan for vehicles.

Job Summary The Body Shop Estimator is responsible for assessing vehicle damage, estimating repair costs, and providing detailed repair and cost assessments to customers. This role requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of vehicle repair processes and insurance procedures.

Vehicle Inspection

Inspect vehicles to determine the extent of damage and necessary repairs.

Use specialized equipment and techniques to assess structural, mechanical, and cosmetic damage.

Utilize estimating software to initiate the repair process.

Estimate Preparation

Prepare accurate and detailed repair estimates, including labor, parts, and materials.

Use estimation software to generate quotes and repair orders.

Review and update estimates as necessary based on additional findings or customer requests.

Customer Interaction

Communicate with customers to explain repair processes, provide cost estimates, and address any concerns or questions.

Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while interacting with customers.

Provide accurate delivery assessments based on collision guide books.

Insurance Coordination

Work with insurance adjusters to review and approve estimates.

Provide necessary documentation and support to facilitate the claims process.

Job Tracking and Management

Track the progress of repairs and ensure that they are completed within the estimated time frame and budget.

Coordinate with the repair shop team to ensure timely and accurate repairs.

Documentation and Reporting

Maintain accurate records of estimates, repairs, and customer interactions.

Prepare and submit reports as required by management or insurance companies.

Customer Satisfaction

Ensure that all work is performed to the highest standards and that customers are satisfied with the repair process and outcomes.

Address and resolve any customer complaints or issues in a timely manner.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

Excellent customer service skills

Basic computer proficiency

Positive, friendly attitude, along with a customer service mentality

Enjoy working in a dynamic environment

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Teammate with collaborative mindset

Math, reading, and software skills

Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications

Able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
