Job Description

The Phlebotomist II – Float is responsible for providing high-quality blood collection and specimen preparation while delivering excellent patient care.

This role requires working across multiple locations as needed, performing specimen collection, maintaining documentation, verifying patient information, and supporting a safe and professional environment.

The individual represents the organization to patients and helps ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and a positive patient experience.

Requirement / Must Have

Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric.

Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime based on staffing needs.

Ability to make decisions using established procedures and good judgment.

Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license, if applicable.

Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.

Strong customer focus and communication skills.

Ability to travel and cover multiple locations with minimal notice.

Experience

Three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections (required).

Minimum two years in a Patient Service Center environment (preferred).

Customer service experience in a retail or service environment (preferred).

Keyboard/data entry experience.

Responsibilities

Perform daily activities accurately and on time.

Maintain a safe and professional work environment.

Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing.

Verify patient demographic information and signatures post-venipuncture.

Maintain required documentation and records.

Promote a positive image to patients, clients, and employees.

Qualification And Education

High school diploma or equivalent.

Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.

Phlebotomy certification preferred.
