Job Description
The Patient Services Representative II represents the face of the organization to patients as part of their health routine or life-defining health decisions.
This role is responsible for collecting quality blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and ensuring a safe, accurate, and professional patient experience while maintaining confidentiality and data accuracy.
Requirement/Must Have
Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
Ability to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise good judgment.
Reliable transportation and a valid driver license with a clean driving record, if applicable.
Experience
1–3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
Experience working in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
Responsibilities
Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
Maintain a safe and professional work environment.
Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established procedures.
Verify patient demographic information, initials, and signatures post-venipuncture to ensure correct labeling.
Maintain required records and documentation.
Promote a positive organizational image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
Should Have
Strong customer focus and effective communication skills.
Ability to adapt to change and work across multiple locations as needed.
Skills
Phlebotomy and specimen processing.
Pediatric, geriatric, and capillary blood collection.
Data entry and documentation accuracy.
Communication and interpersonal skills.
Time management and multitasking.
Qualification And Education
High school diploma or equivalent.
Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
Phlebotomy certification preferred.
