Job Description
The Patient Services Representative II represents the face of the company to patients and is responsible for collecting quality blood samples and preparing specimens for laboratory testing while following established procedures. This role involves direct patient interaction, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and a high level of customer service in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Requirements / Must Have
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Excellent phlebotomy skills including pediatric and geriatric collections.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to provide accurate, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
Flexible availability including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license if applicable.
Strong customer service focus and communication skills.
Experience
Three years of phlebotomy experience including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
Two years of experience in a patient service center environment preferred.
Customer service experience in a retail or service environment highly preferred.
Keyboard and data entry experience.
Responsibilities
Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
Maintain a safe and professional work environment.
Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing according to established procedures.
Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient signature post-venipuncture to confirm correct specimen labeling.
Maintain required records and documentation.
Promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.

Qualifications and Education

Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
