Senior Pastor

Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ, Granite Heights, Wisconsin, United States

Save Job

Elizabeth Lutheran Church is a

Christ-centered, community-focused

congregation located in

Caldwell, Texas . Our mission:

Loving God, Loving Others, and Sharing the Word.

We value both

tradition and innovation —anchored in the truth of God’s Word while remaining open to the creative movement of the Holy Spirit in our worship, ministries, and outreach.

Elizabeth Lutheran Church is a place of

faith, fellowship, and service . We host a monthly

Community Pantry , annual

July 3rd Celebration and Fireworks Show,

weekly Women’s Bible Study, Brotherhood Meals, Ladies Luncheon, and Pork Dinner Fundraisers. These are ways our church serves as a joyful gathering place, for both our members and the community. These events are more than social gatherings—they are

living expressions of our mission , tangible ways we share God’s love and hospitality. Our recently remodeled facility provides a beautiful and functional worship space designed to support our ministry needs, and to serve our members and the community at large.

Our Vision for the Future Elizabeth Lutheran Church is prayerfully seeking a pastor who will lead us with

vision, faith and compassion . We believe God is calling us to deepen our discipleship, broaden our outreach, and continue growing as a church that serves both its members and its community.

We seek a pastor to help us fully

implement our Ministry Plan , working alongside the congregation, Church Council, and ministry teams to help bring it to life. This living

Ministry Plan

centers on

three core expressions of faith

—loving God, loving others, and sharing the Word—and identifies

four key ministry priorities :

Worship & Music

– Enriching our worship life through joyful and Spirit-filled services rooted in Word and Sacrament, celebrating both traditional and contemporary expressions.

Member Care

– Strengthening the bonds of Christian fellowship through prayer, pastoral care, visitation, and active involvement in one another’s lives.

Youth & Children

– Nurturing the next generation of disciples through intentional ministry, teaching, and mentoring opportunities that grow faith and character.

Marketing & Communication

– Expanding our reach and visibility through effective communication, media, and community engagement that share the message of Christ’s love.

The right candidate will be a spiritual leader who both honors our traditions and inspires fresh energy and participation in our mission.

The Role of Our Pastor

The pastor of Elizabeth Lutheran Church will provide

spiritual leadership and vision

through preaching, teaching, pastoral care, and outreach. This individual will lead worship and administer the Sacraments, guide the congregation in Christian education, and offer counsel and comfort during times of need. Working in partnership with the

Church Council

and

Ministry Team leaders , the pastor will help shape and carry out the vision of our congregation, as defined in our Ministry Plan.

The pastor shall

lead weekly worship with excellence and creativity

with biblically grounded sermons that inspire spiritual growth and practical faith. Additionally, the pastor shall provide compassionate pastoral care through visitation and personal support while encouraging and equipping members to use their gifts in service to others. In collaboration with church leadership, the pastor nurtures a culture of volunteerism and fosters congregant participation in ministry. The pastor shall support and strengthen our youth and family programming, helping to form the next generation of disciples. Clear, uplifting communication are vital to this role, as are active involvement in local outreach, partnerships, and community events. In all these efforts, the pastor will help keep the congregation focused on our Ministry Plan.

Our ideal candidate should be an

ordained or ordainable pastor rostered with the Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (LCMC) . The right person is

grounded in Scripture

and guided by a deep personal faith in Jesus Christ, demonstrating integrity, humility, and a servant’s heart. We seek a

compassionate shepherd

who values relationships, encourages spiritual growth, and leads by example. The pastor should be a

strong communicator , comfortable preaching and leading in both traditional and modern settings, and capable of connecting meaningfully with people of all ages. Above all, this individual should embrace the spirit of

small-town ministry —leading with creativity, courage, and warmth while helping us live out our calling to love God, love others, and share the Word.
