Construction Superintendent – Low Voltage Technology We are looking for an experienced Low Voltage Construction Superintendent (CS) to join our team. The CS will ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to our quality standards. Key responsibilities include safety compliance, supervising craft workers, coordinating subcontractors, scheduling, handling materials, daily reporting, quality control, and training. Candidates should have 3 to 7 years of experience in low-voltage systems, including managing installations of communications systems, outside/inside plant cabling, and structured cabling systems. Preferred credentials include PMP or BICSI – RTPM, with additional desirable certifications such as BICSI Certified Cable Installer and RCDD. Experience in security systems, audio‑visual systems, and communication systems integration is required. Position Description The Construction Superintendent (CS) is responsible for the safe completion of projects within budget, on schedule, to the company's quality standards, and to the customer's satisfaction. Responsibilities are typically safety compliance, craft supervision and production, subcontractor coordination, scheduling, material handling, daily reports, quality control and craft training. The CS's duties will vary as required to support the project team.

Position Qualifications

Experience managing or overseeing installation of low voltage building systems

Electrical / Low Voltage Systems experience – 3 to 7 years

Communications Systems Installation Supervision

Outside / Inside Plant Cabling Installation Supervision

Structured Cabling Systems Installation Supervision

Credentials: PMP or BICSI – RTPM (Certified Technology Project Manager)

Other desirable credentials: BICSI Certified Cable Installer, RCDD – Registered Designer

Experience includes security systems integrator, audio visual systems integrator, communication system integrator

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or business; professional accreditations such as DBIA, LEED, etc.

Essential Duties

Safety – ensure safety is incorporated into job planning and execution; enforce policies.

Quality – responsible for all quality control on the project; report repetitive issues.

Job Planning – develop and implement pre‑job plan; make course corrections.

Scheduling – ensure schedule complies with job planning.

Mobilization – complete tasks assigned in pre‑job planning sessions.

Coordinate and supervise all company workforces on the project; hire and fire hourly personnel.

Develop assistant superintendents, coordinators, engineers, foremen and craft persons.

Personnel evaluation, development, and retention – define expectations, provide feedback, recommend promotion or termination.

Coordinate and schedule all subcontractors and hold weekly meetings with foremen.

Develop forms detailing special construction methods for job efficiency.

Maintain accurate time‑keeping and cost records.

Study labor recaps and cost controls to bring costs back into budget.

Expedite vendors and subcontractors on a daily and weekly basis.

Material Receiving – inspect received material for quantity and quality; sign and code tickets.

Equipment – review equipment needs with supervisor.

Owner Relations – participate in owner/architect/contractor meetings; keep stakeholder aware of changes.

Be sensitive to special requirements of customer or neighbors to ensure satisfactory relations.

Maintain project logs.

Physical Work Classification & Demands

Heavy work: exert up to 100 lbs occasionally, up to 50 lbs frequently, up to 20 lbs constantly.

Walking, kneeling, sitting, crouching, reaching, stooping, reading, speaking, pushing, pulling, lifting, standing, typing.

Walking frequently on jobsite.

Operate computer or tablet and other office machinery.

Communicate with employees and external stakeholders.

Read written communications and view mail submissions; read blueprints, take/verify field measurements.

Climb ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and ramps at various heights.

Balance body to prevent falling.

Stooping bending at the waist.

Reaching in any direction for varying durations.

Grasping objects with fingers and palm regularly.

Visual acuity; operate vehicle if certified.

Occasionally exposed to high and low temperatures.

Frequently exposed to noisy environment and outdoor elements.
