Description Experienced Diesel Mechanic

A well-established company in the pavement preservation industry is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join its team. The company provides high-quality asphalt products and expert construction services across the Midwest, specializing in Asphalt Emulsions, Sealers, Joint/Crack Seals, Fog Seals, Micro/Slurry Seals, Chip Seals, and more.

Overview This position is primarily based in a climate‑controlled indoor shop, with occasional service calls to job sites for truck and equipment repairs. The Diesel Mechanic will work closely with the Fleet Manager, department heads, and construction foremen to maintain and optimize the operation of a fleet that includes Class 8 trucks, pickups, and construction equipment. This role is essential to ensuring the safety, reliability, and performance of the fleet.

Essential Job Functions

Perform routine and in-depth maintenance on fleet vehicles and construction equipment.

Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, mechanical, computer, and A/C systems.

Maintain heavy equipment such as loaders, rollers, brooms, and forklifts.

Conduct safety and DOT inspections in compliance with regulations and company policies.

Assist with procurement of vehicles, equipment, and parts.

Operate internal fleet management and maintenance software.

Respond to service calls and complete necessary repairs.

Maintain a clean and organized work area while safely operating all equipment and tools.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience as a Diesel Mechanic.

Class E (MO) or Class C (KS) license required within 30 days of start date.

CDL is a plus.

Good driving record required.

Availability to work overtime on short notice.

Physical Requirements

Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.

Capable of lifting and moving 70+ lbs.

Ability to remain stationary for extended periods.

Willingness to work extended hours and irregular days as needed.

Compensation and Benefits Weekly pay. 2nd and 3rd shift differential pay of $3/hr on top of base. Overtime pay after 8 hours/day or 40 hours/week. 100% company‑paid health insurance for employees. Pay Range Pay range for this position is $62,400.00 – $72,800.00 per year.
