Responsibilities
Underwrite and grow a $1–1.5 million GWP book, focusing on Construction/Builders Risk, Motor Truck Cargo, and miscellaneous lines.
Produce new business and maintain a target loss ratio of 45% while meeting annual company goals for profitability, renewal retention, and customer service standards.
Collaborate with senior underwriters, a “buddy” in the Northeast, and a broker distribution network to expand the portfolio.
Set appropriate rates and factor levels within established risk guidelines.
Qualifications
Background in Inland Marine underwriting across construction, floaters or motor truck cargo.
Strong broker distribution and ability to produce profitable new business.
Excellent technical advice, risk assessment, and customer service skills.
