Lead Apparel Designer Our client is seeking a Lead Apparel Designer to drive the creative vision and execution of high-performance apparel across seasonal product lines. This role blends hands‑on design, advanced digital tools, and strong storytelling to bring technically driven concepts to life while collaborating closely with cross‑functional partners in a fast‑paced, highly confidential environment.

Hybrid model in Beaverton, Oregon.

Lead Apparel Designer Responsibilities

Lead the end-to-end design process for technical and performance-focused apparel, from concept through final production readiness.

Translate creative ideas into compelling visual stories using digital tools, sketches, and physical or virtual prototypes.

Partner closely with developers, product managers, and other design disciplines to deliver on product, cost, and timeline goals.

Apply strong knowledge of garment construction to elevate fit, function, and overall product quality.

Review samples and prototypes, providing clear, actionable feedback to support iterative improvements.

Present design concepts and product stories in a professional, polished manner to internal stakeholders.

Maintain discretion and confidentiality while working on forward-looking and unreleased product initiatives.

Lead Apparel Designer Qualifications

At least five years of experience in apparel or product design, with deeper experience strongly preferred.

Demonstrated expertise in apparel construction and how garments are engineered and assembled.

Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and experience working in CLO or similar 3D apparel design platforms.

A portfolio showing the ability to bring technical or functional apparel concepts to life, not just aesthetic or lifestyle design.

Strong visual communication, presentation, and storytelling skills.

Experience working with performance, sport, or technically driven apparel brands, with global brand exposure a plus.

Ability to collaborate effectively within a team while also working independently and managing multiple priorities.

A degree in apparel design or a related field is preferred but not required.

Compensation: Up to $50/hr. (DOE)
