The
Assistant Preschool Director
supports the Preschool Director in overseeing daily center operations, staff supervision, and regulatory compliance. This leadership role plays a key part in maintaining a safe, developmentally appropriate learning environment while mentoring and supporting teaching staff. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and passionate about early childhood education, with the ability to lead teams, manage operations, and support high-quality classroom practices. Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Operations
Support daily center operations, including scheduling, enrollment coordination, and administrative tasks Assist with implementing policies and procedures to ensure efficient center management Ensure compliance with Florida childcare licensing, health, and safety regulations Staff Management & Development
Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and supervising staff Maintain appropriate classroom ratios and staffing coverage Support performance evaluations and professional development plans Lead team meetings and foster a collaborative, accountable work culture Educational Program Support
Support implementation of high-quality, age-appropriate curriculum Ensure classrooms are engaging, safe, and developmentally appropriate Mentor teachers in lesson planning, classroom management, and instructional practices Child & Family Engagement
Promote a nurturing, inclusive environment for children and families Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and center updates Support family conferences, events, and workshops Safety, Compliance & Documentation
Assist with safety drills, recordkeeping, and maintaining required certifications (CPR, First Aid, etc.) Respond promptly and professionally to incidents or emergencies following established protocols Community Outreach & Growth
Support enrollment, marketing, and community outreach initiatives Represent the center at community events to strengthen visibility and reputation Qualifications
Active
Florida Child Care Professional Credential (FCCPC)
and Staff Credential required CDA, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s degree
in Early Childhood Education, Education Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred) Minimum
3 years of classroom teaching experience
and
