About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director for its Western North Carolina Chapter. This external-facing role is pivotal in community relations, with a focus on supporting mission capacity building, and strengthening relationships across all community elements. The successful candidate will be the primary liaison to the community, responsible for maximizing the organization's presence and connectivity, and expanding awareness of its contributions. Key responsibilities include developing sustained community relationships, managing a chapter board, and leading community volunteer leaders. The role also involves influencing to create an environment of teamwork and inclusion, and may require serving as a member of the Elected Officials Liaison Network during disaster responses.
Candidates for the Executive Director position should have a four-year college degree in a relevant field, with a preference for a Master's degree, and a minimum of 5 years of related experience. The role requires strong communication, influencing, and public speaking skills, as well as the ability to develop and implement fundraising strategies. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in building and sustaining community partnerships, and the ability to work effectively in a team. Proficiency in MS Office is essential, and a valid driver's license with a good driving record is required for travel within the region. The Executive Director will be expected to exercise good judgment in complex situations and to be a force for good, aligning their work with the organization's mission to help people and communities.
