Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm (weekend events as needed)
About the Department
The Center for Environmental Farming Systems (www.cefs.ncsu.edu), is a partnership between North Carolina State University (NCSU), North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (NCA&T) and the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (NCDA&CS). Its mission is to develop and promote just and equitable food and farming systems that conserve natural resources, strengthen communities, improve health outcomes, and provide economic opportunities in North Carolina and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day technical and customer service support to CEFS program staff
Support planning, coordination, and evaluation of events and public meetings, including those for the Farm to Early Care team
Communicate program policies and procedures clearly and accurately to clients and stakeholders
Track and maintain records and accounts to support reporting requirements for events
Request, organize, and submit business paperwork related to assigned events, ensuring timely follow-up
Assist with general administrative functions and contribute to the smooth operation of the CEFS administrative team
Troubleshoot and resolve routine issues related to event coordination and client communications
Other Responsibilities
Other tasks and responsibilities may be assigned based on the needs of the organization and evolving priorities.
Co- Wellness Champion for NCSU Well Workplace initiative.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of NCSU accounting and budgeting processes, Wolf Reporting system, Travel regulations, Marketplace, Google Platform, standard office procedures and knowledge of contract and grants processes.
Experience with accounting and budgeting.
Strong customer service skills, with the ability to communicate policies and procedures clearly to a range of stakeholders.
Required License or Certification
Valid NC driver’s license or the ability to obtain within 60 days of start.
