First Reformed Church of Wichert is a warm and welcoming congregation rooted in Reformed theology and tradition. We value relational ministry, spiritual depth, and authentic connection. Our church is located in a rural community and functions more like a family than a formal institution, and we are prayerfully seeking a pastor to walk alongside us in faith, compassion, and growth.
First Reformed Church of Wichert exists to glorify God by the nurturing of its people, and by furthering His Kingdom through outreach to those who do not know Jesus Christ by providing them with His life changing message.
The Opportunity We are searching for a theologically grounded and relational leader who will journey beside us—offering strong preaching, intentional pastoral care, and visionary outreach. The ideal candidate will help deepen our spiritual lives, strengthen community engagement, and support sustainable growth as we live out the Great Commission.
Key Responsibilities
Preaching & Teaching: Deliver biblically sound, relevant sermons and lead engaging small group studies. Apply Scripture to modern challenges.
Pastoral Care: Provide spiritual support through hospital and home visits, counseling, and prayer. Offer a compassionate, listening presence.
Administration: Collaborate with staff and consistory to coordinate worship and fulfill strategic goals. Represent the church in denominational settings.
Community Engagement: Participate in outreach and attract younger individuals and families while maintaining congregational tradition.
Family & Fellowship: Engage with congregants across generations, modeling relational discipleship and intergenerational connection.
Worship Sensitivity: Honor traditional worship using blended styles of hymns and choruses and remain open to new expressions as the church grows.
Qualifications
Passionate about fulfilling the Great Commission
Degree in theology, divinity, or equivalent ministry experience
RCA approved minister
Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
