Charney Companies is expanding the Gowanus Wharf leasing team to support the launch of approximately 2,000 new residential units in Gowanus over the next few years.
Charney Brokerage is a full service brokerage with a strong new development focus. We lease Charney owned properties, select third party buildings, and support a traditional brokerage business, offering multiple paths to grow and build a career within one platform.
We are tech forward, operations minded, and focused on long term relationships between residents and place.
This is a full time, on site Leasing Specialist role for someone who wants to work on high profile new construction, own the leasing lifecycle end to end, and grow alongside a rapidly scaling development.
The Role
The Role
At Gowanus Wharf, you are the front line of the resident experience. You guide prospects from first inquiry through move in, manage tours and applications, and deliver a clear, confident, hospitality forward on site presence. You will work on active lease ups supported by strong inbound lead flow, dedicated marketing, and modern leasing systems. The role balances sales performance with operational accuracy and requires strong follow through at every step. As additional buildings come online, there is opportunity to take on expanded responsibility. What You’ll Do

Lease apartments and manage the full leasing lifecycle from inquiry through move in Conduct tours and maintain consistent follow up with prospects Coordinate applications, approvals, and resident onboarding Represent the Gowanus Wharf brand on site Collaborate with property management and operations teams Maintain accurate leasing records and documentation What We’re Looking For
What We’re Looking For
Real estate experience and a salesperson’s license preferred. Candidates without direct real estate experience will be considered if they demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and sales aptitude. Strong communication and relationship building skills Comfort managing high lead and tour volume Excellent follow through and attention to detail Ability to work in a fast paced, on site environment Experience with CRMs, leasing or property management software such as Yardi or AppFolio, and project management tools such as Monday or Asana preferred Working knowledge of Fair Housing Laws Requirements

One or more years of residential leasing experience Weekend availability based on leasing demand Ability to be on site and move throughout the property during the workday Compensation
