Provide patient-centered care with empathetic and instructional patient care and monitoring. Apply detailed attention to procedural accuracy, dosage calibration, and administration of patient services. Ensure adherence to hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. Patient care assignment may include neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups./ppDetailed responsibilities:/pp Radiology Procedures - Use published procedures, techniques, and radiopharmaceutical administration guidelines to produce images and lab results/pp Radiopharmaceuticals - Prepare radiopharmaceuticals for injection, ingestion, and inhalation; measure radioactivity, dosage; maintain records; maintain safe procedures for handling, administration, storage, and disposal of materials/pp Patient Care - Verify patient identification, pregnancy status, breast-feeding status, and order for procedure; maintain proper patient communication throughout procedure/pp Quality - Use proper procedures to ensure quality results from imaging equipment, radiation detection equipment, detection, and counting devices/pp Radiation Safety - Maintain compliance with regulations and procedures for radioactive contamination monitoring and decontamination; disposal of radioactive waste; provide instruction on radiation hazards and principles of radiation safety/pp Imaging - Operate gamma cameras with sealed sources of radioactive material for transmission imaging with single photon emission tomography or positron emission tomography and transmission imaging when performed as part of SPECT/CT or PET/CT including diagnostic CT/pp Contrast Media - Prepare and administer contrast media/agents/pp Records - Complete department and hospital records for billing and procedure monitoring; participate in quality assurance programs; maintain daily radiopharmaceutical records and patient log book; complete regular monitoring survey/pp Maintenance - Perform or assist with preventive maintenance, quality assurance, and minor equipment repair; calibrate cameras, dose calibrators, measure radionuclides/pp Patient Safety 1 - Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures, and protocols/pp Patient Safety 2 - Demonstrate proactive approach to patient safety by seeking opportunities to improve patient safety through questioning of current policies and processes/pp Patient Safety 3 - Identify and report/correct environmental conditions and/or situations that may put a patient at undue risk/pp Patient Safety 4 - Report potential or actual patient safety concerns, medical errors, and/or near misses in a timely manner/pp Patient Safety 5 - Encourage patients to actively participate in their own care by asking questions and reporting treatment or situations that they dont understand or may not seem right/pp Medication - Under the supervision or direction of a Radiologist, safely and properly retrieve, handle, store, and waste select medications for use during the setup, performance, and cleanup of radiology procedures/ppQualifications:/ppEducation:/ppEssential:/pp Program Graduate/ppEducation specialization:/pp Commission on Allied Health (AMA) Nuclear Med/ppExperience:/ppEssential:/pp No preferred experience/ppCredentials:/ppEssential:/pp CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers w/in 30 days/pp Intermediate Life Support Certification w/in 6 months/pp NM Nuc Med Tech and NMMIRTP CT Lic - Prov up to 2 yrs of pos/pp ARRT Nuclear Cert or NMTCB National Cert/pp ARRT(CT) and/or NMTCB (CT)/ppNonessential:/pp CT Certification by ARRT/ppPhysical Conditions:/ppMedium Work: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
