Responsibilities

Independently review, evaluate, and approve new business applications and renewals in alignment with carrier underwriting guidelines, procedures, and delegated authority. Respond to broker submissions and referrals through the point-of-sale system within established service timelines. Determine appropriate pricing using predictive modeling tools and approved underwriting deviations in collaboration with underwriting leadership. Apply advanced rating techniques including loss rating, composite rating, and other non-traditional rating methodologies. Prepare and deliver competitive quotes, issue policies, and proactively follow up to satisfy outstanding underwriting requirements. Pre-screen renewal accounts and provide recommendations regarding retention, modification, or non-renewal. Manage an assigned territory and/or broker relationships with full accountability for profitability and growth results. Analyze performance trends and recommend corrective actions when needed. Stay informed on industry trends, market conditions, competitor activity, and state regulatory changes impacting commercial auto underwriting. Maintain and expand technical expertise through professional development, continuing education, and industry involvement. Collaborate with underwriting, sales, and support teams to achieve departmental goals and deliver strong broker service. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience Minimum of

1 year of Commercial Auto underwriting experience Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities Effective communication and relationship-building skills with brokers and internal partners
