Area Sales Manager

We are seeking a driven, relationship-focused Sales Manager to lead and grow our Foot & Ankle medical device presence in the Detroit metropolitan market. This role is ideal for a high-performing sales professional with deep experience supporting orthopedic foot & ankle surgeons, delivering value in both the operating room and the clinic.
This position blends strategic territory management, surgeon partnership, case coverage, and revenue growth leadership.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and manage a defined Detroit-area sales territory focused on Foot & Ankle specialists
Build strong, long-term relationships with orthopedic surgeons, podiatrists, OR staff, and hospital administrators
Provide in-service training and intraoperative case support for foot & ankle procedures
Drive revenue growth, market penetration, and surgeon adoption of products
Execute territory business plans, sales forecasts, and growth strategies
Identify and onboard new surgeon accounts while expanding existing relationships
Collaborate with marketing, product, and leadership teams to support launches and initiatives
Maintain detailed CRM records and comply with all regulatory and compliance standards
Serve as a trusted clinical and business partner to customers
Qualifications

3+ years of orthopedic or medical device sales experience (Foot & Ankle strongly preferred)
Proven success selling in the operating room environment
Existing relationships within the Detroit / Southeast Michigan orthopedic market preferred
Strong understanding of foot & ankle anatomy, procedures, and surgical workflows
Demonstrated ability to grow a territory and close complex sales
Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
Highly organized, self-motivated, and results-driven
Willingness to travel locally and provide after-hours case coverage as needed
Competitive base salary + uncapped commission
