Overview
The Enterprise AI Solutions Architect serves as the organization's internal consultant for artificial intelligence. Rather than building every solution directly, this role empowers business units to design, adopt, and scale AI capabilities within their own functions. The AI Architect partners with leaders to identify high-value use cases, translate business needs into practical AI workflows, and guide the responsible deployment of tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, Power Platform, and other enterprise models. This position provides the enterprise blueprint for "what's possible," helps drives the AI roadmap, and ensures that AI solutions are aligned to operational goals, data governance, and organizational readiness.
Education & Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field or equivalent demonstrated skills and abilities required. Master's degree preferred but not required (MBA, MSIS, or related). Job Responsibilities
AI Strategy & Roadmapping
Conduct regular "AI Opportunity Workshops" with teams to identify automations, agents, and decision-support use cases. Partner with the Enterprise Architect and department leaders to define AI opportunities, priorities, and implementation plans aligned with organizational strategy. Maintain and update the enterprise AI roadmap, including capability maturity, adoption phases, and measurable outcomes. Internal Consulting & Enablement
Serve as advisor to functional leaders, helping them design, scope, and evaluate AI capabilities within their own areas. Guide business units in building their own Power Automate flows and AI agents (supporting but not directly owning the builds). Provide solution architecture support and collaborate to ensure projects meet standards for data quality, governance, and security. Solution Design & Technical Integration
Translate business requirements into functional use cases, high-level solution designs, and model selection guidance. Establish best practices for prompt engineering, workflow design, and hybrid AI-automation architectures. Governance, Risk & Responsible AI
Collaborate with key stakeholders to define guardrails for responsible use, model selection, data access, and compliance. Ensure AI implementations adhere to organizational policies and security protocols. Partner with IT, Cybersecurity, and Legal to review and approve proposed AI solutions. Training, Change Management & Adoption
Conduct training sessions, office hours, and AI-enablement programs to upskill staff at all levels. Create reusable templates, reference architectures, and internal documentation for common AI use cases. Promote an experimental, learning-oriented culture while reinforcing safe, high-quality implementation. Measurement & Continuous Improvement
Define KPIs for AI usage, productivity gains, and business value. Review performance of deployed solutions and recommend improvements. Stay informed about emerging technologies, tools, and model capabilities; bring forward recommendations for strategic adoption. Perform other duties as requested by management. Skills Needed
AI Fluency
Understanding of LLMs, generative AI, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), model evaluation, and AI solution patterns. Solution Architecture & Systems Thinking
Ability to design high-level architecture diagrams, evaluate integration needs, and assess feasibility without becoming the "builder of everything." Business Acumen
Experience working with operations, HR, finance, engineering, sales, quality, and other functions to identify high-ROI use cases. Process Design & Optimization
Strong skills in mapping workflows, identifying bottlenecks, and reimagining processes using AI and automation. Communication & Facilitation Skills
Ability to translate complex ideas into plain language, lead workshops, and influence without formal authority. Change Leadership
Skilled at training, stakeholder management, adoption planning, and helping teams move from concept to execution. Governance & Data Awareness
Understanding of data governance, security, privacy, and ethical AI principles. Innovation & Curiosity
Forward-looking mindset with the ability to explore emerging tools, challenge assumptions, and inspire teams about "what's possible." Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
