Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent and 5 years of professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in data science, analytics, information systems, computer science, higher education administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible experience.
Demonstrated leadership of enterprise‑level data analytics, reporting, business intelligence, and data governance within complex organizations.
Experience supervising professional staff and managing cross‑functional projects with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Proficiency with analytics and visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, SQL Server Suite) and experience developing dashboards and reports for executive decision‑making.
Strong understanding of data visualization best practices and experience with predictive modeling and applied AI.
Experience integrating data from multiple sources (e.g., survey platforms, CRM, external datasets) and modernizing data architecture with cloud analytics and real‑time reporting.
Knowledge of FERPA, data privacy standards, and information security best practices related to student and alumni data; experience managing technology resources and vendor relationships.
Direct experience with career outcomes data collection, analysis, and reporting.
Duties/Responsibilities
Management of Data Modeling and Enterprise Data Systems
Oversee the integrity, quality, and governance of career outcomes data across systems of record (e.g., Qualtrics, QuestionPro, Handshake, Steppingblocks, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, SQL Server Suite), and other platforms.
Provide vision and leadership for the Career Outcomes Initiative; collaborate with schools/colleges and non‑academic units to improve surveys, data reporting, and visualizations.
Utilize external data sources to augment internal information (e.g., third‑party career outcomes data, U.S. Census, National Student Clearinghouse).
Act as liaison to the Office of Institutional Research (OIR) for reporting and data requests.
Supervision
Provide strategic and operational leadership to the Career Center Data Analytics team.
Mentor and develop Data Analytics staff; define and track performance metrics.
Analytics Innovation and Enablement
Lead development of dashboards, predictive models, and analytic tools aligned with strategic priorities.
Advance integration of analytics, AI, and data visualizations; modernize data architecture for scalable analytics.
Ensure accuracy of data usage and develop standardized solutions for staff use.
Security, Compliance, Campus Integration, and Data Stewardship
Ensure compliance with DAR and university IT policies, data security standards, and FERPA.
Lead data automation and data exchange with campus units; manage access controls and security updates.
Coordinate with campus IT partners to align systems and support processes; oversee hardware and lifecycle management.
Contribute to long‑term technology planning and serve as liaison to IT services and the Registrar’s Office for data updates.
