
CU-CAT External Relations Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY
Serves as the primary liaison between the university, CU‑CAT, and external collaborators, ensuring the effective operation and strategic direction of CU‑CAT and EATS (Ecosystem of Agricultural Technology Sharing industry collaborative). Directs program development, business engagement, and marketing efforts to advance the center's mission. Leads coordination of the EATS Industry Advisory Board and facilitates industry collaboration, reporting, and outreach. Supports organizational structure, operational strategies, and stakeholder engagement to enhance the impact of CU‑CAT, EATS, and related initiatives. Completes other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES
45% - Essential - Industry & Stakeholder Engagement: Serves as the Executive Director of the EATS Industry Advisory Board, overseeing participation, reporting, operations, and meetings in alignment with the CU‑CAT charter. Leads CU‑CAT business relationship management, fostering connections between external stakeholders and CU faculty, staff, and administration. Expands industry engagement, corporate partnerships, and community participation to enhance CU‑CAT and EATS visibility and impact.
20% - Essential - EATS Program Development & Administration: Manages the implementation and continuous development of the EATS mission, organizational structure, business model, and legal agreements. Maintains relationships with internal and external partners of both CU‑CAT and EATS, including corporations, government agencies, and non‑profits. Coordinates the development of guiding documents, marketing materials, and digital content to promote CU‑CAT, EATS, and their initiatives.
20% - Essential - Engagement & Event Management: Coordinates CU‑CAT engagement and event efforts, managing deadlines, deliverables, and milestones for collaborative initiatives. Works with university personnel and external partners to establish MOUs, SOWs, and NDAs. Leads planning and coordination of key events for CU‑CAT, EATS, and related initiatives, strengthening engagement with industry and academic stakeholders.
15% - Essential - Operational & Administrative Coordination: Oversees administrative functions related to CU‑CAT and EATS business relationships and collaborative projects, including communications, reporting, and meeting coordination. Works with CU‑CAT administrative staff to ensure efficient logistical and operational support for CU‑CAT and EATS. Provides CU‑CAT and EATS quarterly updates to university administration and supports strategic decision‑making for program sustainability and growth.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education - Bachelor's Degree - Relevant program experience.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
Education - Master's Degree - Business Administration and/or Marketing
Work Experience - 2+ years project/event management, marketing, sales
RESPONSIBILITIES Job Knowledge and Supervision: Firm working knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures with ability to apply in varied situations. Supervises work of others and may provide recommendations for hiring, termination, and pay adjustments but does not have decision authority. Budgetary: Provides input into the budgeting process and oversees fund allocation.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS No physical requirements. Overnight travel may be required.
WORK SCHEDULE Standard Hours: 37.5 hours per week.
COMPENSATION Anticipated Salary Range: $52,100 – $80,000. Salary depends on experience, skills, and performance.
