Account Executive – Commercial HVAC
The Account Executive – Commercial HVAC is responsible for driving technical sales and delivering customized HVAC solutions to commercial and industrial clients. This role combines strong HVAC engineering knowledge with consultative sales strategies, owning the full sales cycle from opportunity identification through proposal development and contract close. The position collaborates closely with engineering, project management, and service teams to deliver technically sound, cost-effective solutions that meet client needs.
Responsibilities
Identify and pursue new business opportunities within commercial and industrial HVAC markets
Evaluate client requirements and develop customized HVAC system solutions
Prepare and present proposals, technical documentation, and cost estimates
Collaborate with engineering, project management, and service teams to ensure technical accuracy and feasibility
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients while developing new accounts
Conduct site visits, job walks, and system assessments as part of the sales process
Deliver presentations to key decision-makers highlighting proposed solutions and value
Negotiate project scope, pricing, and timelines to close profitable opportunities
Track sales activity, pipeline performance, and forecast opportunities
Stay current on HVAC technologies, industry standards, and local building codes
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Technology, or a related technical field preferred
Minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC sales, estimating, or engineering
Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems, designs, controls, and mechanical principles
Proven ability to develop sales strategies and close business in competitive markets
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; AutoCAD or HVAC estimating software experience a plus
Skills & Abilities
Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical specifications, and mechanical drawings
Excellent time management, organization, and prioritization skills
Valid driver’s license with willingness to travel locally for client meetings and site visits
Compensation & Perks
Base salary: $80,000–$110,000
Tiered commission structure
Service commissions paid monthly
Project commissions paid when jobs are completed
Monthly car allowance ($600–$700)
