Junior Designer Reports To:
Associate Design Director Position Summary:
Join the dynamic AE Women's team and immerse yourself in the thrilling design process, from initial concepts to the ultimate execution of denim apparel. As a Junior Designer, you will work alongside our talented team to craft innovative products that reflect our brand's vision. Responsibilities: Collaborate with the Designer to develop exciting, category-specific products for the American Eagle Women's team, adhering to design directives. Gain in-depth knowledge of raw materials and trims essential for women's denim. Utilize email and PLM tools for efficient project tracking and daily follow-ups. Foster partnerships by engaging with merchants and vendors. Participate in and observe presentation techniques, contributing to initial presentations. Assist with daily operations and organization during the Designer's absence, including fit sessions. Conduct thorough preliminary design research within the domestic market. Review lab dips, wash submissions, and finishes with supervisor approval. Take on additional responsibilities as assigned to support team objectives. Embrace in-person collaboration, especially for product development milestones, fittings, and approvals, as needed. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Fashion or Art, or equivalent experience. 2-3 years of relevant apparel experience, with woven experience considered a plus. Prior experience with AE or Aerie is advantageous; PLM experience is necessary. Strong interpersonal and analytical skills for effective cross-department communication. A detail-oriented, tech-savvy individual who can manage multiple tasks efficiently. Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), Excel, and PLM. Comfortable in hybrid work environments, attending the office several times a week based on business needs. Pay/Benefits Information: Starting pay is based on experience and location.
