Overview

About Us: Betches Media is the ultimate digital media and lifestyle destination for women. As a pioneer in the humor and entertainment space, we’ve built a platform that connects with over 250M fans across social media, podcasts, web, events, and e-commerce. Now as part of LBG Media, Betches is in an exciting new chapter, leveraging the global reach and innovation of our parent company to push the boundaries of creative media. This is your opportunity to be at the forefront of shaping the future of Betches Media and propel the brand through its next phase of growth. Description Betches Media is seeking a Comedy Writer to collaborate across multiple teams and projects, helping punch up copy, shape concepts, and make everything funnier, sharper, and more distinctly Betches. This role will support editorial, branded, social, video, and tentpole initiatives — from scripts, skits, and brainstorms to web stories and newsletters that turn ideas into stronger, funnier executions. The ideal candidate is a Betches fan with real comedy experience (writing jokes, scripts, sketches, or humor-driven content), strong writing chops, and a deep understanding of internet and pop culture. You have a clear comedic point of view, a feel for what actually lands right now, and the ability to move fluidly between punchy one-liners, longer scripts, and big-picture concepts. We’re looking for someone who is collaborative, quick in brainstorms, comfortable revising and elevating existing ideas, and focused on making the work better rather than protecting the first draft. This role will report into the VP of Editorial and work closely with editors, producers, business leads, and social team members. Roles & Responsibilities

Punch up and revise copy across platforms, including social copy, short- and long-form video scripts, tentpole materials, branded content, Substack, and web stories Participate in weekly brainstorms to generate comedy-forward concepts, skits, formats, and ideas Revise and polish scripts, outlines, copy and decks to ensure clarity, pacing, and maximum comedic impact Help maintain and evolve the Betches voice across different formats and audiences Contribute original jokes, bits, and concepts while also improving existing ideas Stay fluent in pop culture, internet trends, memes, and comedic formats that resonate with Millennial and Gen Z audiences Qualifications

2+ years of writing experience with a strong focus on comedy (digital media, sketch, scripted, stand-up, branded, or similar) Proven ability to write and edit humor-driven content across multiple formats, particularly with scripts or concepts for video or social-first formats Strong collaborative instincts and comfort working in fast-paced brainstorm environments Deep understanding of internet culture, pop culture, and social platforms Ability to give and receive feedback and iterate quickly Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills Familiarity with the Betches brand voice and humor style Available to join a few brainstorms per week (in person or remote, as needed) A can-do, flexible attitude and ability to juggle multiple projects at once Sketch, improv, or performance background a plus Compensation
