The Associate Director of Account Management plays a critical leadership role at the center of Hearst’s client partnerships—guiding high-impact campaigns from idea to execution while developing and empowering a team of Account Managers. Key Responsibilities (What You’ll Be Doing)
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Account Managers, aligning talent and workloads to best support client goals and business priorities
Partner closely with Sales and Operations leadership to manage the sales pipeline, RFP responses, campaign execution, and billing coordination
Serve as the primary escalation point for complex client or campaign issues, proactively removing obstacles to ensure flawless delivery
Establish and maintain operational rigor across the Account Management function, using reporting and performance metrics to drive consistency and success
Collaborate cross‑functionally with Sales, Marketing, Research, Product, Yield, and Operations teams to improve processes, evolve offerings, and maximize revenue opportunities
Oversee campaign execution from order booking through launch, optimization, delivery, and wrap reporting—ensuring alignment across media plans, IOs, and systems
Analyze post‑campaign performance to identify insights, upsell opportunities, and renewal recommendations
Maintain deep expertise across Hearst brands, ad products, platforms, and internal workflows while contributing to strategic initiatives that move the business forward
Qualifications (What We’re Looking For)
Proven experience in media, sales planning, or strategy with success managing complex, high‑value advertiser programs
Demonstrated people leadership experience, including coaching, performance management, and team development
Strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment
Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem‑solving abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders, clients, and agencies
Strong relationship‑building skills, with a track record of driving client satisfaction and repeat business
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across Sales, Marketing, Research, Product, and Operations teams
Familiarity with advertising platforms and tools such as Google Analytics, Google Ad Manager, and Salesforce
Hybrid work requirement: This role is based in New York City and requires working in the office four days per week

The base salary for this role is between $118,000 - $143,000. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
